Motivating Mom of the Month-February 2024: Rupi Kaur

"Rupi and her girls are such a ray of sunshine in class. She is an absolute joy to have in class, always smiling, laughing, and giving it her all. Her dedication to attending classes each week is inspiring. It brings me so much joy to see her name on the roster. Congratulations, Rupi!" -Kara, Fit4Mom Instructor

"Rupi has been such a positive presence in Our FIT4MOM Village! She works hard but makes it look easy! Always with her 2 sweet girls in tow, a smile on her face and encouraging attitude towards other moms. I always feel motivated after seeing her at Stroller Strides class!" -Jessica, Fit4Mom Instructor

Who are the members of your family and where are you originally from?

My husband and I have two daughters, Kirpa (4 years old) and Arzoi (2 years old). We are originally from India.

When was your first Fit4Mom class and what do you remember about it?

My first class was in the summer of 2023 at the Lorton Library. After my class I came home and start searching for FIT4MOM classes. I remember after my first class I felt so energetic and came home talking about FIT4MOM all day and I knew this was something I needed so much. I still remember the energy Shannon brought to the class. The class was so much fun and I had my 18 months old daughter with me in the stroller.

Where can we find you? What is your Fit4Mom routine these days?

I live in Lorton so, I love Springfield and S360 classes. Also, if I'm not able to make it an in-person class I will try to do virtual classes which I'm so thankful for as an alternative option.

What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)?

I'm currently a stay-at-home mama.

What are 3 of your favorite things?

Spending time with my family and traveling.

You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do?

Shopping and spending time with my husband.

What has being a mom taught you?

Being a mom has taught me to be more patient and let go of little stuff so you can enjoy motherhood. Kids grow up so fast.

What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

We were at a local park viewing holiday lights. Another family was approaching from the opposite side. Mom, Dad and 4 little kids. We were impressed. As we passed by Dad he said "Stop at 2!"

Any words of wisdom for other moms?

Take care of yourself first so you can be the best version of you for your family.

What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? What would you tell someone thinking about joining?

I love the fact that I can workout and have my kids with me. Even my kids love FIT4MOM. On the days i don't want to go to class, my 4 year old will push me to go to class.

If you are looking for something to do for yourself and your kids, definitely join FIT4MOM. It's a great mom group where you will be motivated by other mom's.
